    What changed

Google reduced or removed FAQ rich result visibility for most websites. That does not mean FAQ content became useless. It means the incentive shifted from visual SERP expansion to clarity, entity coverage and machine-readable page structure.

    Should you keep FAQPage schema?

Use schema only when the FAQ is visible on the page and genuinely useful. Do not add hidden question-answer pairs just to influence search results.

For many commercial pages, visible FAQs still help users understand scope, pricing, process, timelines and risk. They also help answer engines extract concise responses.

    SEO and GEO strategy

    Keep answers specific

Short, concrete answers are easier for search engines and AI answer engines to interpret.

Connect FAQs to the page topic

Questions should support the main intent of the page. A service page should answer buying, process and suitability questions. A technical article should answer implementation and risk questions.

Use schema as support, not a substitute

Structured data should describe content that already exists on the page. It cannot compensate for thin or generic copy.

    Practical recommendation

Keep high-quality visible FAQs where they improve the page. Validate schema, avoid duplication and review content after major Google Search documentation changes.
